Indonesia Will Grant 10-year Residency to Investors under New Golden Visa Program

On July 25th, 2024, Indonesia launched its Golden Visa program to attract wealthy foreigners and boost the country’s economy. Announced by President Joko Widodo, the program offers investors long-term residence permits for 5 or 10 years.
Who Can Obtain the New Indonesia Golden Visa
The primary goal of the Golden Visa program is to attract wealthy foreign investors and skilled individuals who can contribute to Indonesia’s economic growth.
The visa is available for various categories of foreigners, such as individual investors, company owners, retirees, and global talents.
The Golden Visa offers numerous benefits such as multiple-entry privileges, streamlined visa processing, and extended stay durations. This makes Indonesia an attractive destination for high-net-worth individuals and businesses looking to establish a presence in Southeast Asia.
Cost of the Indonesia Golden Visa
The Indonesia Golden VIsa program regulations propose multiple investment options suitable for different categories of applicants:
purchasing government bonds — $350,000 for a 5-year visa or $700,000 for a 10-year visa;
investment in public company stocks — $350,000 for a 5-year visa or $700,000 for a 10-year visa;
opening a deposit in an Indonesian bank — $350,000 for a 5-year visa or $700,000 for a 10-year visa;
purchasing property worth at least $1 million and making a deposit for $130,000 or more;
establishing a company in Indonesia — $2.5 million for a 5-year visa or $5 million for a 10-year visa;
corporate investments — $25 million for a 5-year visa for the company’s directors or commissioners, or $50 million for a 10-year visa.
Apart from implementing the investment condition, candidates must pay a visa application fee of around $800 for a 5-year visa and around $1,200 for a 10-year visa.
